We purchased our 2019 GMC Sierra 2500 Diesel from Stowasser on June 30th 2025. During the pre purchase service and inspection the service department had trouble getting it to pass smog. A few days after bringing the truck home the check engine light came on. We scheduled a service appointment for July 11th. We dropped the truck off however the service department was not able to look at it that day at all. The following Monday July 14th we brought the truck back. During a conversation with the service tech they told me it looked like there is an open code that was not dealt with before the smog check. We left the truck with them all week. July 18th we picked up the truck. The service department said they couldn't pin point the problem but that they had replaced a wiring harness for the fuel system and the light had not come back on. We drove the truck home. Before we got home the check engine light came on. We immediately went back to Stowasser and the service tech plugged it in and it does still show something wrong with the fuel system. The tech cancelled the check engine light and we decided we would drive it to see if it comes back on. We need to be able to use this truck and depend on it. I have already sold my other truck. It seems like the dealership was aware of the problem before it was sold to us but wanted to make the sale before the end of the month. Luckily we did purchase the extended warrantee. The problem remains unresolved. We have used Stowasser in the past for service of our 2005 GMC and have been very satisfied with the customer service. We need to be able to use this truck.

They kept me informed of the progress. And let me know in advance to get my approval for an extra cost fixing a rat issue. All very friendly and helpful.

I truly felt at home at Stowasser, upon my arrival I felt like Nemo from the titular film, "Finding Nemo", when he arrives at his first day at school. Lost and alone, I was immediately helped by the service department and taken care of to such an extent that, dare I say, taught me to love humanity again. I was told that it would take some time to complete my service and I was personally escorted to the beautiful lounge where I was able to rest me weary head while I waited for my vehicle's service to be complete. As I glanced to my side I was quickly astonished by the wall of awards presented to Stowasser and needless to say, my breathe was taken away. It was in that moment that I knew I was in good hands. At this point I had been approached by a rather handsome gentlemen, he welcomed to the dealership and informed me if I had any questions while my vehicle was being serviced, as we began speaking he peaked my interest; however, I was not in the market for a new vehicle. I have an AMAZING 2020 GMC Terrain and it has taken me great distances and treated me wonderfully, I could not fathom parting with it. As my conversation continued with this gentlemen I began to feel so incredibly welcomed at Stowasser, it was if I was being welcomed by my own father! It goes without saying, I would absolutely recommend to anyone around the world to do business at Stowasser, not only will they treat you like a real human being they will even teach you to love again.

Amanda kept me up to date on the repairs being done and when the truck would be ready. The repairs were done very well and I am a happy customer.

I have been taking my truck to the dealership for about 10 years, a few years ago I had a very bad experience and I have avoided going in to the dealership. After yesterday I feel better about how things went at the dealership.

Great customer service with smooth drop off and vehicle updates tailored to my cars needs. They recommended an air filter replacement and included pictures for reference that I accepted.

I went in because my car was stalling when I drove it. I drive a 2014 Buick encore. I received it the next the day and they told me there was nothing wrong. I explained to them I commute to work and to Fresno to see my daughter. So I need to make sure everything is okay. They reassured me that nothing was wrong. The next morning on my way to work sure enough my car stalls on the freeway. I am now stranded and need a tow and am not going to make it to work. I call them to tell them and they say they can not help me with a tow or anything and that is was good yesterday that it was pretty much my problem. Not having sympathy or anything. I then said I can will get a tow and they reply we will work on it when we can.. like they didnt want to help. I ended up getting a tow to a different dealership since I didn't feel stowaser had any kind of customer service very rude. Didn't take any accountability but most of all didn't actually fix my car or diagnose it. Which left me missing time at work, costing my a $300 tow, and a rental car so I can drive to work. I hope this get to someone who can talk to whoever runs the service department in santa maria, CA stowaser so they can address the situation so it doesn't happen again to someone else.
